Jayme has spearheaded the growth of new programs. She has added Coding (Software and App Design) and 3D Amination and increased the dual enrollment offerings. She has continued to improve the Project Lead the Way.

Jayme has added the Academy of Entrepreneurship at Mountain Ridge and the Academy of Hospitality & Tourism at Deer Valley with the National Academy Foundations. She worked with the district to create a fine dining Culinary Arts restaurant experience at Barry Goldwater High School that is nationally recognized. Other Facilities and improvements to Deer Valley under Jayme’s leadership include addition of an Aerospace focused Engineering Lab, Professional Film & TV studio at Boulder Creek High School, Early Childhood Education facility, Sports Medicine building addition, Interior Design lab remodel), and Professional Film & TV Studio at Sandra Day O’Connor High School, Professional Film & TV Studio at Mountain Ridge High School.

Jayme seeks out best practices to CTE programs by attending and presenting. She networks with colleagues across the nation to find best practices. She is currently introducing the career trees from Mark Perna’s program that is aa system-wide recruitment and retention program to improve CTE programs and high school educational opportunities.This program impacts not only CTE but incorporates counselors, campus administration, and district level administration. Additionally, Jayme has worked to improve access and opportunity for CTE Special Populations students in accordance with Perkins V. Efforts this year included ongoing work with campus Special Education Strategists, Transition from School to Work program coordinator and staff, and English Language Learners, included increased program promotional materials for Spanish Speaking families.

This time is a natural extension of the PLC, Professional Learning Communities, time that is embedded year-round. She seeks out support and funding for students to acquire industry certification standards. 577 industry certifications were earned in 2019 and 100 % of CTE programs offer one or more industry credentials. She also seeks out professional development for teachers and counselors. Jayme has been instrumental in creating an active advisory board as well as the National Academy Foundation Board. She encourages all CTE teachers to join and attend the ACTEAZ and ACTE Conferences. She promotes professional development and encourages teachers to pursue leadership positions within their affiliates. She is a leader in ACOVA, ACTE National Fellow 2019 and an officer in ACOVA.
