ACTEAZ Announces 2023 CTE Month® Video Contest Winners

ACTEAZ is proud to announce this year’s video contest winners!

ACTEAZ will award $500 to the first-place winner, $250 to the second-place winner, and $150 to the third-place winner. The first-place video will be shown at the 2023 Arizona CTE Summer Conference. All three videos will be published on ACTEAZ media outlets.

ACTEAZ Awards

Submissions for the 2023 ACTEAZ Awards are open, and we are seeking submissions!

Nominate your favorite CTE teacher, administrator, counselor, business partner, and/or staff member to recognize their achievements. This year, you can even nominate yourself!

The deadline for applications is Friday, March 17.

ACTEAZ Scholarships

Arizona high school seniors and post-secondary students are encouraged to apply for the 2023 ACTEAZ Scholarships! To be eligible for a scholarship, students must be nominated by a current ACTEAZ member. 

The scholarship amount ranges from $500 to $2,000, depending on available funds and the number of scholarships the committee agrees to award.

Attendee Registration & Hotel Information

Attendee registration for the AZ CTE Summer conference will open the week of March 20, 2023.

Hotel registration will open March 13, 2023. Keep an eye on the hotel information page for call-in details.

Session proposals for the 2023 ACTE CareerTech VISION Conference are now open through March 3!

The conference will take place Nov. 29 – Dec. 2, 2023 in Downtown Phoenix.

Best Practices and Innovations Conference – Session Proposals Now Open!

The 2023 Best Practices and Innovations in CTE Conference is now accepting session proposals through March 3!

The conference will take place Sept. 27 – 29, 2023 in Salt Lake City, UT.

ACTEAZ encourages you to stay connected with CTE-related legislation and express your support or opposition to bills during the legislative season. 

You can do so online via the Legislature’s Request to Speak (RTS) system. You can also monitor bills using RTS.

Meet Alec Damiano, Marketing and Event Technology Manager

Alec Damiano joined the ACTEAZ team as Marketing and Event Technology Manager in June 2021.

She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism and Mass Communication from the Walter Cronkite School at Arizona State University and a Master of Business Administration degree from Southern New Hampshire University.

Prior to joining ACTEAZ, she served as Employee Communications Specialist at Fender Musical Instruments Corporation, Associate Video Editor at Edgenuity, and Video Editor at the Arizona State University Foundation.

Alec was first involved in Career and Technical Education by being part of her high school’s graphic design, IT, and business programs. She was also a member of her high school Geek Squad and National Technical Honor Society.

At ACTEAZ, she wears many hats, including graphic design, social media, communications, and tech support.

Fun Facts:

1.       She sings and plays guitar in a heavy metal band called Varkan.

2.       She was a music journalist and has interviewed renowned international metal bands.

3.       She has met all four original members of the band KISS.
