Executive Director’s Letter – Spring 2015

Submitted by Pam Ferguson

I would like to welcome and invite all of you to join us, July 17th – 22nd, in celebrating the 40th Anniversary of the ACTE Summer Conference.  40 Years ago we hosted our first conference when we were still known as the Arizona Vocational Association.  Since then we have grown and changed to meet the needs of our members as CTE itself has grown and changed to fit the needs of educating our students.  This year our conference theme, CTE – A Revolution in Education, is a reminder to all of us of what we have gained in the past 40 years, but also what we still are working to achieve.  It is through our collaborative efforts with the CTE Division of the Arizona Department of Education and our Affiliate Associations that I believe this will be our best conference yet.

If you are a CTE teacher, administrator, school board member, business partner or Arizona legislator then we hope you will make the time to join us in collaborating and developing the skills and techniques to continue strengthening CTE and bringing about a brighter future for our students.  Through concentrated professional development, networking opportunities and exhibitors to help meet your program’s needs, whether this is your 1st year attending or your 40th year we will have something for you.

A few Conference Highlights:

  • “Innovation and Iteration in Education” presented by Jaime Casap, Global Education Evangelist at Google.
  • “The New EDGAR” presented by Michael Brustein.
  • The Global Pathways Institute presented by William Symonds.
  • The Edge Factor presented by Jeremy Bout.

For more information on our 40th Anniversary conference please visit here.  Check back with us weekly as we update you with more news and planned events for this special conference!

Sincerely,

Pam Ferguson,
ACTEAZ Executive Director
