This workshop is designed to help participants develop a laboratory improvement plan\, including management\, clean-up procedures\, safety procedures\, and meeting monitoring agency mandates. Join us as we identify a variety of practical steps you can take to ensure that your students are safe in the laboratory and that you are protected. Participants will have the opportunity to evaluate their CTE labs and develop a management system for their CTE labs. You will also be treated to a variety of techniques to enable you to manage your lab effectively and efficiently. Additionally\, you will gain new skills needed to utilize a proven methodology of teaching in the lab or shop. \nUpon successful completion of the course\, which includes submission of homework\, participants will receive an ADE certificate for 15 professional development clock hours\, which equates to one (1) semester hour of coursework.

DESCRIPTION:Event Details:\n\nLevel 2 CTE Class\nNo prerequisite\nThis class is designed for all CTE teachers who must take the Assessment of Professional Knowledge Test\nSession Dates: October 16 – January 27\, 2025\n\nThis asynchronous online class allows you to learn at your own pace. You can access lectures\, readings\, and other learning materials to complete assignments and other activities at any time during the six-week period. A significant benefit to asynchronous classes is\, of course\, the flexibility. \nThis course provides an overview of standards and material covered on the NES (formerly AEPA) Professional Knowledge Assessment (Secondary). Participants will engage in discussion and application activities regarding student development and learning\, assessment\, instruction\, the learning environment\, and the professional environment. \nParticipants are required to attend a Zoom Kick-Off Meeting on Monday\, December 16\, from 4-5 pm. Participants must complete one section per week. The class will close on January 27 at midnight. \nUpon successful completion of the course\, which includes submission of homework\, participants will receive an ADE certificate for 15 professional development clock hours\, which equates to one (1) semester hour of coursework.
