DESCRIPTION:This 10 hour training is divided between 3 days.  You must attend all 3 session to receive your OSHA 10 certification. \nThis class will be held via Zoom.  It is a requirement of ASU OSHA that you have your camera on during the whole class\, are actively engaged and complete the participation packet.  You must also pass all 9 quizzes.  The participation packet will be mailed to you the week prior to the class. \nThis class is intended to provide entry-level general industry workers information about their rights\, employer responsibilities and how to file a complaint as well as how to identify\, abate\, avoid and prevent job related hazards on a job site. SUMMARY:Instructional Best Practices Day 1 – June 3\, 2021
DESCRIPTION:This class will be held IN PERSON on June 3 from 8:00 am – 4:00 pm at START @ WEST-MEC Presentation Room.  5405 N 99th Ave\, Glendale AZ  85305.  To earn 1 ADE credit you must also attend Instructional Best Practices Day 2 on June 8\, 2021. \nThis course is an introduction to the design and use of CTE curriculum.  In this highly engaging course teachers will focus on the design and delivery of relevant and engaging lessons. Special emphasis is placed on writing clear\, aligned and measureable objective(s)\, a variety of methods for structuring learning to meet objective(s)\, incorporation of active participation strategies\, developing a strong introduction to each lesson\, and closure to assess learning. These strategies will be woven and modeled throughout the entire course. \nThis course is excellent for every teacher! Ace your next evaluation! \nThis 8-hour class is the first class in a 2 class set.  You may wish to also sign up for Instructional Best Practices Day 2 (a separate 8 hour class)!  The third class in this series is Classroom Management and is also open for registration. \nAll participants who complete the IBP Day 1 class and whose district is a member of the Curriculum Consortium will receive password-protected access to the AZ CTE Curriculum Consortium with its bank of outstanding lesson plans and/or other valuable resources for CTE programs written by Arizona CTE teachers. \nThere is no homework for this class.  You will only receive 1 ADE Credit once you attend all 8 hours of Instructional Best Practices Day 1 and all 8 hours of Instructional Best Practices Day 2.

DESCRIPTION:Whether in a welding lab or a bioscience lab\, effective demonstrations are crucial. In this course\, teachers will engage in the four-step demonstration method\, which gradually transitions the learning of a new skill from teacher to student\, through effective modeling\, guided instruction and independent practice. If done correctly every student can successfully perform the new skill with little or no frustration\, without wasted materials\, and attain proficiency in a way that will ensure the whole class progresses at an appropriate pace. DESCRIPTION:Wouldn’t you love to learn to write lessons that allow you to walk into your classroom each day feeling fully prepared? This is a productive and hands-on course that will help you achieve that goal. Each teacher will review the components of an AZ CTE Curriculum Consortium lesson\, complete a task analysis for one or more learning objectives\, establish the measurement criteria\, determine the number of lessons to be written for the unit of instruction and develop the first lesson in the unit. Participants will also engage in a conversation about the effective use of PowerPoint presentations for instruction and review copyright and fair use guidelines.
