In this course\, teachers will engage in the four-step demonstration method\, which gradually transitions the learning of a new skill from teacher to student\, through effective modeling\, guided instruction and independent practice. If done correctly every student can successfully perform the new skill with little or no frustration\, without wasted materials\, and attain proficiency in a way that will ensure the whole class progresses at an appropriate pace. An added bonus is that students complete the new skill in a safe and supportive environment.  Come and learn this four-part demonstration method! \nNOTE:  There is homework associated with this class if you wish to earn (1) ADE Credit.  Participants who participate in the course and who complete one follow-up assignment will have the opportunity to earn 15 CEU hours approved by ADE.

DESCRIPTION:This 10 hour training is divided between 3 days.  You must attend all 3 session to receive your OSHA 10 certification. \nThis class will be held via Zoom.  It is a requirement of ASU OSHA that you have your camera on during the whole class\, are actively engaged and complete the participation packet.  You must also pass all 9 quizzes.  The participation packet will be mailed to you the week prior to the class. \nThis class is intended to provide entry-level general industry workers information about their rights\, employer responsibilities and how to file a complaint as well as how to identify\, abate\, avoid and prevent job related hazards on a job site. The training covers a variety of general industry safety and health hazards that a worker may encounter.   \nThe OSHA 10 certification does not expire.

Special emphasis is placed on writing clear\, aligned and measurable objective(s)\, a variety of methods for structuring learning to meet objective(s)\, incorporation of active participation strategies\, developing a strong introduction to each lesson\, and closure to assess learning. These strategies will be woven and modeled throughout the entire course. \nThis course is excellent for every teacher! Ace your next evaluation! \nThere is no homework for this class.  You will only receive your 1 ADE Credit if you attend all 8 hours of Instructional Best Practices Day 1 and all 8 hours of Instructional Best Practices Day 2. \nThe third class in this series is Classroom Management.  It is open for registration.
