DESCRIPTION:You must receive instructor approval before enrolling. Please email PD@west-MEC.org. Registration for this course will close October 16\, 2026. \nLevel 4 CTE Class\nPrerequisites: It is strongly recommended that you complete the following courses prior to enrollment:\n– Instructional Best Practices\n– Grading & Assessment\n– Lesson Plan Writing\n– Classroom Management or Foundations of Classroom Management\n– Rubrics\n– Serving Exceptional Students in CTE\nRecommended Timing: This course should be taken in your third year of teaching\, approximately six months prior to your deficiency deadline\nIntended Audience: This class is designed specifically for CTE Teachers who are required to take the Arizona Assessment of Professional Knowledge: Secondary (052)\nEnrollment Requirement: Instructor approval is required before enrollment. Interested participants must complete an enrollment form to ensure recommended prerequisites have been met.\nCourse Format: Asynchronous online course\nSession Dates: October 19 – September 30\, 2026\nParticipants are required to attend a Virtual Kick-Off Meeting on Monday\, October 19\, from 4-4:30 pm \nThis asynchronous online class provides an overview of the standard material covered on the NES (formerly AEPA) Professional Knowledge Assessment (Secondary). Participants will engage in activities addressing student development and learning\, assessment\, instruction\, the learning environment\, and the professional environment. The course also introduces participants to the format and logistics of the test\, enabling them to prepare effectively while allowing flexibility to complete the coursework at their own pace\, within the six-week period. \nUpon successful completion of the course\, which includes submission of homework\, participants will receive an ADE certificate for 15 professional development clock hours\, which equates to one (1) semester hour of coursework. \nNote: We are not affiliated with Pearson or the National Evaluation Series (NES). This course is intended as a supplemental preparation resource and should not be considered the sole source of content for the exam.
