SUMMARY:Instructional Best Practices Day 1 – June 3\, 2021
DESCRIPTION:This class will be held IN PERSON on June 3 from 8:00 am – 4:00 pm at START @ WEST-MEC Presentation Room.  5405 N 99th Ave\, Glendale AZ  85305.  To earn 1 ADE credit you must also attend Instructional Best Practices Day 2 on June 8\, 2021. \nThis course is an introduction to the design and use of CTE curriculum.  In this highly engaging course teachers will focus on the design and delivery of relevant and engaging lessons. Special emphasis is placed on writing clear\, aligned and measureable objective(s)\, a variety of methods for structuring learning to meet objective(s)\, incorporation of active participation strategies\, developing a strong introduction to each lesson\, and closure to assess learning. These strategies will be woven and modeled throughout the entire course. \nThis course is excellent for every teacher! Ace your next evaluation! \nThis 8-hour class is the first class in a 2 class set.  You may wish to also sign up for Instructional Best Practices Day 2 (a separate 8 hour class)!  The third class in this series is Classroom Management and is also open for registration. \nAll participants who complete the IBP Day 1 class and whose district is a member of the Curriculum Consortium will receive password-protected access to the AZ CTE Curriculum Consortium with its bank of outstanding lesson plans and/or other valuable resources for CTE programs written by Arizona CTE teachers. \nThere is no homework for this class.  You will only receive 1 ADE Credit once you attend all 8 hours of Instructional Best Practices Day 1 and all 8 hours of Instructional Best Practices Day 2.

DESCRIPTION:This class will be held IN PERSON on June 3 from 8:00 am – 4:00 pm at WEST-MEC Corporate Offices.  5487 N 99th Ave\, Glendale AZ  85305.  \nTo receive 1 ADE Credit you must also attend the partner class Performance Literacy on Thursday June 10\, 2021.\nYour CTE classroom truly is the key to meaningful application of the current career and college readiness standards.   This course will give you specific examples where Arizona’s Common Core standards for Technical Literacy already exist in your CTE program\, it will provide opportunities for you to incorporate additional standards into your lessons\, AND it will give you strategies to take back to your classroom to increase your students’ ability to read difficult technical information more effectively. \nCome find out why CTE really is a powerful driver for creating literate employees for our 21st century workforce.
