DESCRIPTION:Event Details:\n\nLevel 1\nNo prerequisite\nThis class is designed for all CTE teachers.\n\nThis course consists of TWO 8-hour classes. You must attend BOTH classes to receive credit.  \nYour CTE classroom truly is the key to the meaningful application of the current career and college readiness standards. This course will give you specific examples where Arizona’s Common Core standards for Technical Literacy already exist in your CTE program\, it will provide opportunities for you to incorporate additional standards into your lessons\, AND it will give you strategies to take back to your classroom to increase your student’s ability to read difficult technical information more effectively. \nPerformance Literacy is the partner class for Technical Reading. This second course allows teachers to gain a deeper understanding of writing and speaking standards\, identify how they currently use them in their programs\, and determine specific steps they can take to increase their use of these standards as well as their students’ success with them. \nThe technical literacy standards are skill-driven and a perfect fit for our CTE programs’ focus on career AND college readiness as our students complete their programs. \nCome find out why CTE really is a powerful driver for creating literate employees for our 21st-century workforce! \nThere is no homework for this class. DESCRIPTION:Event Details:\n\nLevel 2\nPrerequisite: Completion of Instructional Best Practices Day 1 and Day 2\nNOT an Option B approved course\n\nThis class will show you how to build a lesson plan with all the needed components for student success. \nWouldn’t you love to learn to write lessons that allow you to walk into your classroom each day feeling fully prepared? This class will help you with that goal. Each teacher will complete a task analysis for one or more measurement criteria\, determine the number of lessons to be written for the unit of instruction\, and write the first lesson in the unit. \nUpon successful completion of the course\, which includes submission of homework\, participants will receive an ADE certificate for 15 professional development clock hours\, which equates to one (1) semester hour of coursework.

You will select the model that is most appropriate for your situation and create a plan to implement work-based learning as a part of your premier program! \n**This course satisfies the ADE requirement for the Cooperative Education Endorsement. \nUpon successful completion of the course\, which includes submission of homework\, participants will receive an ADE certificate for 15 professional development clock hours\, which equates to one (1) semester hour of coursework.
