DESCRIPTION:Event Details:\n\nLevel 3\nNo prerequisite\nThis class is designed for all CTE teachers\nOption B approved course\n\nAn energetic and involved advisory council can have a significant impact on helping your program and students achieve their goals! This interactive class is designed to ensure success in the formation and use of industry advisory councils. During this class\, you will learn how to form a committee\, how to conduct useful advisory council meetings\, and how to use advisory council members for continuous program improvement. \nUpon successful completion of the course\, which includes submission of homework\, participants will receive an ADE certificate for 15 professional development clock hours\, which equates to one (1) semester hour of coursework.

A PO must be received before you can attend the class. \nCourse Description: \nThis course will support teachers’ continuing development as outstanding teachers for CTE programs by examining their personal educational philosophy\, instructional design\, and methodology. \nThree major components comprise the course:  \n\nExamining Beliefs about Learning: Developing your own personal philosophy about learning.\nMotivating Adolescent Learners – Designing a classroom that is especially effective for high school student.\nRing of Fire – active participation strategies to use every day in your classroom. Instruction models active participation strategies and major components that are especially effective with adolescents.\nEach participant will receive their own “Ring of Fire” to utilize in their classroom.\n\nLocation: Yavapai College CTED 220 Ruger Rd. Prescott\, AZ 86301. (It’s a single building with a large parking lot. Main entrance is on the side of the building.) \nCost: $100 per participant \nLunch will be provided by MICTED.
