Dear ACTEAZ Members,

As we head into the holiday season and the winter break I hope you’ll all join me in a moment of reflection and thanks. As 2014 winds down and we take a look back at the year, it is truly amazing just how much we can be thankful for.  CTE is growing stronger, our CTSO students continue to shine and from across the state of Arizona our former students are continuing to share with us their success stories as they claim their futures.  ACTEAZ is also quite thankful for its continued support and strong efforts given by our members and Board members.  While there is much to be thankful for, we also have much to look forward to.

ACTEAZ will continue to strive for growth and development as your professional association.  The ACTEAZ board of directors and staff labor to promote and support Career and Technical Education.  Each year we identify goals which we will pursue during the upcoming year.  For 2014-2015 we promise:

  • To support teachers for the purpose of instructional excellence and student achievement
  • To intentionally grow educational leaders through affiliate support, the Fellows Program and the Arizona Leadership Continuum.
  • To build support for CTE through focused statewide advocacy and outreach

I invite you to join us in these efforts so that all of us can continue to be thankful in the years to come.  Help us to recognize those teachers and students who continue to strive towards excellence through our Awards and Scholarship programs.  Continue your efforts of self-development and join our Fellowship program so we can work to lead ACTEAZ and its affiliate associations into the future.  Most importantly, join us in our Advocacy Initiative as we continue to endeavor through our combined voices for legislation that will strengthen and grow CTE.

While ACTEAZ will continue to work and grow in conjunction with CTE, it is you, our members, who gives us the strength to do so.  Thank you for your continued support and efforts. Thank you for all that you do to enable Arizona students to participate fully in our economy.  Thanks to you, thousands of students will enjoy productive lives. Please know that your service to students and us is noticed and appreciated.

Respectfully yours,

John Mulcahy
ACTEAZ President 2014-2015
